Internal Camera Surveys
UPLS has developed its own high quality CCTV surveying systems based around low light, high resolution colour cameras and continues to develop its systems to meet the needs of clients:
  • CCTV surveys using axial or pan+tilt cameras
  • Structural and service condition grading and ranking
  • Reliable, trained teams operating to safety and quality standards required by the client.

CCTV systems relay real time pictures from within a sewer to an operator and are viewed on a high resolution monitor in a mobile surveying unit. The operator has full remote control of camera functions, and can traverse the CCTV unit up to 600m each way from a given access point. The operator produces a structural and service condition report during the survey and all information is recorded onto video cassette or digital source.

Once site data is returned to the office, verification checks are made according to quality assurance procedures and validated. A ranking and grading analysis report will highlight the sewers that require urgent attention. All teams are fully trained in all aspects of work, including safe working practices in confined spaces and in the highway. All reporting is quality assured to ISO9002 standards.

Capability
Pipeline Surveys provide CCTV camera surveying of potable drinking water pipe from 2" (50mm) up to 36" (900mm) in diameter. Utilising the latest generation of in house inspection systems and custom made mobile survey units, we are able to provide a wide range of CCTV camera surveys to meet your needs.

Rodding Units with adjustable skids and flexible coiler are available to survey from 2" to 8".
Mini Mainline Units are equipped with flexible coiler and tractor systems with surveying equipement for pipes from 4" (100mm) up to 24" (600mm ). Mainline Pan and Tilt up to 36" (900mm) and removable portable systems for inaccessible locations are also available.

Reporting
All mobile survey units have built in office sections for on board surveying and reporting utilising water authority approved Wincan software. This provides a detailed inspection of video footage, image capture of damaged pipe sections, damage assessment, and detailed report generation and printing.

These, together with copy of the video survey recorded on VHS video tape CD ROM, will detail any faults within the system and recommendations and estimates are given for any remedial work that may be required.
